Our Nursery
We are very proud of our Nursery which can cater for 26 children at any one time. Our indoor environment is colourful, vibrant and extremely well resourced.
Outside, we have a fantastic environment for the children to explore including climbing frames, a bridge, seating and a hill, all enhanced with lots of play equipment. The all weather soft surface and artificial grass ensure the children can access the outdoor environment safely in all weathers.
Our Nursery staff are highly experienced early years practitioners comprising a qualified teacher and three teaching assistants. Our staff provide children with a range of opportunities knowledge and skills for future learning. The children grow and develop through active play, exploration and independent learning which prepares them for the transition to school.
Additionally, children also work on a range of exciting projects with our creative practitioner often becoming immersed in making large scale sculptures.
We pride ourselves on the creative and broad curriculum which we offer the children which are enhanced by exciting themed weeks. Over the past year children have enjoyed Shelton Rocks (a pop music themed week), the South Pole adventure, Colours Week and Castles & Dragons Week.
Parents have many opportunities throughout the year to come into the nursery and to learn and play with their children including:-
Sharing our Learning mornings and afternoons
Book & Biscuit mornings and afternoons
Mother’s Day & Father’s Day activities
Observations of Literacy and Numeracy lessons
Sports Day
Bring Your Parents to School Evening
Christmas events
Families are also encouraged to come to our Reading Breakfasts and our Bedtime Reading evenings in school.
The nursery has very close links with the school and children visit school each week to participate in PE in the large school hall. Our nursery children also attend performances and special assemblies in school and love parading around the school on our special dressing up days!
