All of the children take part in Forest Schools on a rota basis every Friday afternoon.
These sessions take place outdoors with teachers, teaching assistants and Tim Cremin, our accredited Forest Schools practitioner.
The children have successfully worked with Tim and with employees from Rolls-Royce to develop a large, previously unused grassed area on the edge of the school grounds. A pond has been created together with a barked story area and children have planted over 20 trees as well as pieces of willow. Rolls Royce employees also kindly screened this area away from public view.
The children thoroughly enjoy their outdoor learning – they have searched for minibeasts, played traditional games, made habitats, made fires, cut branches and learnt about how to stay safe when outdoors and when using different tools.
